MediLUX LED Light Therapy: How Clinic-Level LED is evolving
This year, I’m really excited to be introducing MediLUX LED, a clinic-level LED Light Therapy system that allows me to use LED on a deeper level, strategically within professional skin treatments.
If you’ve been following Skin Health Studio for a while, you’ll know that LED Light Therapy has always been a strong staple in the way I approach skin health. It’s not flashy, and it doesn’t promise overnight miracles, but it consistently supports the skin in ways that really matter long term.
Why LED Light Therapy still plays such an important role
LED Light Therapy works by delivering specific wavelengths of light into the skin, where they interact with skin cells and support natural repair processes. Rather than treating one visible concern in isolation, LED helps guide healthier cellular behaviour over time.
This is why LED is often used to support skin that is inflamed, reactive, acne-prone, or showing early signs of ageing. It helps the skin regulate itself more effectively, which is often what’s missing when skin feels stressed or overwhelmed.
Over time, consistent LED support can help improve skin resilience, texture, and overall balance. It’s a long-game approach, and one that fits beautifully with a skin health philosophy focused on strengthening rather than stripping.
At-home LED and clinic-level LED
Different roles, same goal
At Skin Health Studio, skin care is always a partnership between what we do in clinic and how you support your skin at home.
At-home LED devices, like the IllumiaSkin LED Face Masks, are fantastic for consistency. Regular use at home helps maintain results between appointments, calm flare-ups, and keep the skin in a more stable place day to day. For many clients, this ongoing support is what helps prevent their skin from tipping back into inflammation or sensitivity.
Clinic-level LED serves a different role.
With MediLUX LED, I can use LED Light Therapy in a more targeted and responsive way, adjusting treatments based on how your skin is presenting in that moment. This is especially helpful when the skin needs focused support, whether that’s calming inflammation, encouraging repair, or supporting recovery alongside other professional treatments.
The role of red light therapy in clinic
Red Light Therapy is one of the most widely used forms of LED Light Therapy in professional settings. In clinic, red light is commonly used to support skin repair, collagen activity, and overall skin resilience.
When used consistently and in the right context, red light therapy can help calm redness, support healing, and improve skin tone and texture over time. Rather than being a standalone fix, it works best when layered into a treatment plan that supports the skin before, during, and after other services.
With MediLUX LED, red light therapy becomes part of a considered strategy rather than a one-off add-on.
How MediLUX LED will be used at Skin Health Studio
From 2026, MediLUX LED will be integrated into Skin Health Studio treatments in a way that supports your skin, rather than overwhelms it.
MediLUX LED may be used as:
- A dedicated LED Light Therapy session
- An add-on to Skin Health Facials
- Support during skin recovery or repair phases
- A complementary treatment alongside other professional services
The intention is always the same. Support calm, resilient skin that can function well long term. MediLUX LED simply allows me to deliver that support with more precision, while staying true to a gentle, skin-first approach.
