Skin Health Treatment Facials
Bespoke skin health facials to support calm, clear, healthy skin
Skin Health Treatment Facials are personalised facial treatments offered at Skin Health Studio in Dunedin, designed around what your skin actually needs on the day.
Every skin is different, and every treatment is adjusted to suit where your skin is at. Some skins need calming and barrier support. Some need help with congestion, inflammation, ageing, pigmentation, or sensitivity. Others need more advanced skin work once the foundation is strong enough.
These treatments are never one-size-fits-all. I’ll look at how your skin is behaving, what it has been through, and what we’re working towards, then build the treatment around that.
Skin Health Treatment Facial Menu
Skin Health Studio offers a level-based Skin Health Facial menu, so your treatment can progress as your skin does.

What are Skin Health Facials good for?
Skin Health Facials are a beautiful option if your skin feels out of balance, dull, inflamed, congested, dry, reactive, or simply not as healthy as it could be. They can be used to support a wide range of concerns, including acne-prone skin, sensitivity, rosacea-prone skin, impaired barrier function, pigmentation, dehydration, ageing, and general skin maintenance.
The real benefit is that the treatment can be adjusted each time. Your skin doesn’t always need the same thing, and this is where bespoke facials make such a difference.
Some appointments may be focused on calming and repair. Others may be more corrective, depending on how your skin is responding.
How the treatment levels work
The Skin Health Treatment Facial menu is designed to grow with your skin.
Level 1: A gentle introduction to professional skin treatments and is ideal for first-time clients, teenage skins, highly sensitive skin, or skin that needs calming before anything more active.
Level 2: This level is often suited to skin that is already using professional skincare or needs more than basic calming and repair.
Level 3: This is where we can include more advanced support such as medi-infusion and lymphatic drainage, depending on what is right for your skin.
Level 4: This level is ideal when your skin needs deeper support, more layering, or a more involved treatment plan.
Level 5: This is a longer, more complete treatment experience for clients wanting advanced support, relaxation, and a more intensive approach to their skin.
Why skin health matters with facials
At Skin Health Studio, the focus is always on helping the skin function better. That means calming inflammation, strengthening the barrier, supporting healthy cell turnover, and choosing ingredients that work with your skin rather than overwhelming it.
This is especially important if your skin has been reactive, acne-prone, inflamed, pigmented, or over-treated in the past.
Healthy skin responds better. It heals better. It tolerates active ingredients better. And over time, it becomes much easier to manage. That’s always the goal.
Dermaplaning
Dermaplaning, sometimes known as epiblading, safely and effectively removes the “peach fuzz” or fine hair on the face and upper neck. Where laser hair removal and waxing are not suitable, dermaplaning can pick up what’s left. Using a sharp tool – not too unlike a scalpel is methodically brushed along the skin to cut away the unwanted hair, whilst also gently and effectively exfoliating the skin, leaving your face looking and feeling polished.
Dermaplaning Stand-alone Treatment
30 mins · $120.00
Dermaplaning Add-on Treatment
15 mins · $70.00
Skin Health Facial FAQs
Which facial level should I book?
If you’re unsure, Level 1 is usually the safest place to start, especially if you’re new to the clinic, sensitive, reactive, or haven’t had professional treatments before.
The higher levels give us more time and flexibility, so they’re better suited once I know your skin, or if your skin is ready for more advanced treatment work.
Are these facials suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes. These treatments can be adjusted beautifully for sensitive skin.
If your skin is inflamed, fragile, flushed, or easily irritated, I’ll keep the treatment calm and supportive. The focus is on helping your skin feel safer and more settled first.
Can Skin Health Facials help with acne?
With acne, I’m always looking at what’s driving it. Congestion, inflammation, barrier damage, stress, hormones, gut health, or sometimes a mix of everything. The treatment will depend on what your skin is showing me on the day.
Can I have a facial if I’m using active skincare?
Usually, yes. I’ll check what you’re using before treatment, as some actives may need to be paused for a few days before or after your facial. This just helps protect your barrier and keeps your skin from becoming overstimulated.
How often should I have a Skin Health Facial?
It depends on what we’re working on. Some clients come monthly for maintenance, while others need a more focused plan for concerns like acne, pigmentation, sensitivity, or barrier repair. Once I’ve seen your skin, I can give you a much clearer idea of what will make sense.
What will my skin feel like afterwards?
Most clients leave feeling softer, calmer, more hydrated, and a lot fresher.
If we’ve done a gentle treatment, your skin should feel settled quite quickly. If we’ve done something more active, I’ll talk you through exactly what to expect and how to care for it afterwards.
Can I add LED Light Therapy to my facial?
Yes, and I love adding LED when the skin needs extra support.
It’s especially helpful when we’re working with inflammation, sensitivity, breakouts, pigmentation, or healing. It’s a beautiful way to finish a treatment and help the skin respond well.
Is dermaplaning suitable for everyone?
No, not everyone. Dermaplaning can be lovely for smoothing the skin and removing fine facial hair, but I wouldn’t use it on skin that’s very inflamed, broken out, reactive, or barrier-impaired. In those cases, we’d choose something more supportive first.
