This treatment is Jemma’s Favourite!
Our EXCEED Microneedling treatment has been designed using the most precise fine needles to stimulate production of your own natural collagen. Targeted use of medical grade stainless steel needlesmake channels into the epidermis and dermis to release growth factors and promote healing, this allows for the skin to start the process of creating new collagen. It also allows topical nutrients to be more readily absorbed into the skin, increasing production of collagen and elastin without the risk of invasive techniques that can damage the epidermis.
After the treatment, inflammation sets in and we apply active serums and peptides to encourage repair on a dermal level. You need to allow 1 and half hours for your treatment and a 30 minute follow up appointment. A treatment every 8-12 weeks is recommended for optimum results. We recommend getting before and after photos taken with our Observ Skin Scanner technology so you can see the results for yourself.
Collagen Induction Microneedling FAQs
What is Collagen Induction Therapy?
Collagen Induction Therapy, also known as microneedling, is an advanced treatment that helps your skin regenerate and repair itself naturally. Very fine needles create controlled microchannels in the skin, which trigger your body’s natural healing response. This process encourages new collagen and elastin to form, improving firmness and texture over time. The result is smoother, brighter, and healthier-looking skin that continues to strengthen long after your treatment. It’s one of my favourite ways to restore your skin’s natural vitality in a safe and effective way.
How does Microneedling work?
During microneedling, I use a precision device that gently creates tiny punctures in the top layer of your skin. These microchannels send a signal to your body to begin its natural repair process. As the skin heals, it produces new collagen and elastin fibres, which are the building blocks that keep your skin firm, plump, and resilient. Because the treatment works beneath the surface, it doesn’t damage the outer layer of skin. Instead, it builds strength and structure from within. Over a series of treatments, you’ll see smoother texture, refined pores, and a natural radiance that lasts.
The Exceed Microneedling device is FDA approved and therefore clinically proven to treat fine lines, wrinkles and acne scars. It is also Medsafe listed here in New Zealand. Extensive clinical studies are carried out to earn these approvals.
What can Collagen Induction Therapy help with?
Collagen Induction Therapy can improve many common skin concerns. It’s ideal for softening fine lines, improving uneven texture, fading acne scars, and reducing pigmentation or sun damage. It’s also wonderful for firming and refining skin that feels dull or tired. The treatment boosts cell renewal, brightens the complexion, and supports overall skin health by stimulating fresh collagen production. If you’ve been looking for a treatment that delivers real results without harshness or downtime, this is a beautiful option to consider.
Does Microneedling hurt?
It sounds a little scary, but most people find microneedling far more comfortable than they expect. You might feel a light scratching or prickling in certain areas like the forehead or nose, but it’s quick and manageable. Afterwards your skin can feel warm or a little tight for a short time before it settles.
Is Microneedling suitable for everyone?
Microneedling works beautifully for most skin types, particularly if your concerns include ageing, uneven texture, sun damage, or scarring. The treatment helps boost collagen in all skin, but it’s not suitable for everyone. It’s best avoided during pregnancy and if you have active acne, open wounds, or ongoing breakouts. Before beginning treatment, I’ll always carry out a full skin consultation to ensure it’s safe and beneficial for your skin. If you’re not quite ready for microneedling, we can look at other options to prepare and strengthen your skin first.
What should I expect after treatment?
We want the best results for your skin, and post treatment after care is so, so important!
After your treatment, you’ll take home a Prologic Derma Aid Treatment and Prologic Omega 3 Treatment Oil.
We’ll also ask that you put aside all your other skinare for 7 days post treatment (except for your cleanser and eye care), and just use the DermaAid and Omega 3 Oil. Sunscreen is of course a non-negotiable, we recommend the SIMKA SPF 50 for protection, which you can use as either clear or tinted if you’re still a little red.
When will I see results?
You’ll usually notice your skin looking fresher and smoother after the first few sessions, with results continuing to build as new collagen forms. For the best outcome, I often recommend a course of 4 to 6 microneedling treatments spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Your plan will always be tailored to your skin’s needs and recovery pace.
